An Australian-looking domain is not the same as an accountable operator.

What to check

• Search the ABN or business name on ABN Lookup if the site publishes one.
• Match the ABN, business name, domain, footer, checkout name, invoice name, and payment descriptor where possible.
• If a site claims Australian warehouse or Australian owned, ask for the entity, dispatch location, and support route.
• Check whether the site has a named operator, phone, support email, correction route, terms, refund policy, and physical or registered business context.
• Do not treat a .com.au domain, AUD pricing, or Australian flag icon as proof of local accountability.
• If the operator cannot be identified before payment, the ownership-transparency criterion should stay pending.
